Santhal community is embedded in strong community expression through ‘anne siring’ (dancing and singing), rituals, festivals, storytelling apart from traditional notions of livelihood, health and occult practices. This lay the ground for a pedagogy of performance emanating from the santhal notion of ‘raska’( a state of being lost to an activity). Raska evokes notions of ‘ras’(pleasure) and taste, which links further to identity and culture.
